Truth: Not a fan of tofu, personally. My wife however: LOVES the stuff. SO: I’ve learned a few ways to cook with it that go over pretty well… THIS ONE: was a smash.

WHAT YOU NEED:

1 Block of Extra Firm Tofu
Soy sauce
Sriracha
Hoisin
Sesame oil

Optional Garnish:

Green onions
Sesame seeds

METHOD

Drain and press a block of extra firm tofu. (10-15 mins oughta do it, unless you have a fancy tofu press.)
Cut into slices/cubes/shape desired.

In a bowl: 2 tbsp soy sauce (gluten free for us), 1/2 tbsp sriracha, 1/2tbsp gf hoisin, 1 tbsp sesame oil (toasted, if you have it). Toss tofu in marinade, allow to sit for 10-15 mins.

Sprinkle a tbsp corn starch into the bowl, and toss to mix. Allow to sit for about 5 min.

Air fryer preheated to 400, (a TEENY bit of oil drizzled in if it’s a contained basket style, if it’s a toaster oven style, spray it all after arranging)

Lay the tofu out in the basket so air can move freely between em all (you can see the cross cross marks on mine from o it toaster-oven style air fryer, we have two different kinds, I used IT for the larger basket).

At around the 15 minute mark, shake the basket or flip the tofu, gently.

Fry for another 5-10 mins until desired crispness. (Careful, it can burn pretty quick. Keep an eye on it in that last 10 minute period)

Serve with dipping sauce of choice (this pic: is just hoisin and a small drizzle of sriracha) and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if you have on hand.
